A Stormy Play Date
I hear thunder grumble a complaint
As the clouds push each other
In a neighborhood brawl
And kick at the mountain’s ridges
In a fit of turbulence
When with swords drawn high
Lightning flashes
In angry tormenting rage
As a mighty wind races down
From on high peaks
The tempest bending its will
Against valley and hill
Then down comes the rain
From clouds swollen angry mouth
To dance the storms lament
Of thunderous notes
I see the drops tumble upon
The lakes stormy surface
White caps curling
Their lips in a sneer of contempt
Not worried at all
This storm just child’s play
For Zeus’s delight
