A Spring Storm

A shy sun hides behind dark clouds
as spiders spin silk into shrouds.
And because Nature doesn't take sides,
behind dark clouds, a shy sun hides.
Lightning flashes, lighting the sky;
till birds are too afraid to fly.
Fueling thunder's loud clashes,
lighting the sky; lightning flashes.
Bowing to the wind, the trees bend,
knowing in time, this storm will end.
With twigs snapped and canopies thinned,
the trees bend, bowing to the wind.
Time drains the storm to a drizzle,
as its strength begins to fizzle.
While re-establishing the norm
to a drizzle, time drains the storm.
The sun breaks free from clouds of grey,
inviting the children to play.
And while remnants of the storm flee
from clouds of grey, the sun breaks free.
