A spring secret

A spring secret? Beyond the garden fence there sat a fairy who was weeping, dressed in finer clothing than the world had ever known She whispered to a marigold a secret meant for keeping, gazing as a butterfly from far away had flown It landed on a river fern, its leaves were gently swaying, to rest it's wings of violet and amber for a while "Yon fairy has a secret, I am told, what was she saying?" The marigold just closed its eyes and wore a silly smile A nightingale sat overhead midst tapestries of fashion, then giggled at the question raised atop the fern below Sang a tune in harmony with every morning passion, its lyrics said, you needn't ask if she wants you to know A tiny stream meandering did flow in foam and streamers, within the banks that wove their way from here to over there Carrying reflections of the feather covered dreamers, something that the nightingale was very proud to share Though still the thought persisted of the fairy and the reason to why her tears were falling and her rosy cheeks were wet When then a tulip bloom appeared to show the coming season wintertime was over, something no one should forget The fairy lifted up her head, her smile brightly showing, it seems it wasn't sadness; they were tears of joy she wept For spring, she knew, was coming, warmer weather would be flowing as for her secret, well, you know, some secrets should be kept

It would be a very hopeful thing to remember that spring always means a new beginning, just as a new day does. Lovely lines, Chris.

Best spring poem this week. You always were a master of rhymes. When I read you I think of Greg Barden, another rhyme master.
