A Spartan Life- G-G

A Spartan Life - (g&g)

Spartans have no blemishes, no fears, kill inferiors
Destroy their sick and babies with imperfections
By sword or place them by a mountain side
Wolves take care of these matters in savage manner
Make meals of the weak in quick fashion
Nature turns the other way
Reserves judgment on the warrior nation
Ready for death at any moment
Model citizens must fight or die
Etch out the future to survive
Wield weapons faster than the enemy
Draw blood to make a point
Spill guts to make their gain
Glory comes at a price
A Spartan life

Hi Jan, Thank you. When I was in 1st. grade, I remember being deeply impacted by the Spartan history that I read about. I was shocked at how they placed their babies by a hill or mountainside to die because they were not perfect. Even the Spartan women were hardened by that life. Quite a contrast to todays society where men are, for the most part, a bunch of sissies. Don't get me wrong. I don't miss the "good old days." Even though my parents were both Spartan like, I still prefer todays way of life. Have a pleasant and non-Spartan kind of day. Earl
