I’m delighted Line’s decided to mention The First Annual Poetry Soup Convention The convention will be in the U S of A At Disneyland, where all poets can stay It’s to be held in the first week of May All are welcome it’s on a bank holiday Invitations will be sent on a gold edged card There will be prizes for any outstanding bard The host will be Bard William Shakespeare (A hologram) I’d better make this quite clear There’ll be a seminar from this sonnet master I must attend, as my sonnets are a disaster! If you desire to deviate from your norm Attend a workshop to learn a new form There’s an opportunity to air your poet’s voice A slam contest - perform a poem of your choice I hope soupers will attend from far and wide Through our poetry writing we’ll all be allied To meet fellow soupers would be a delight I better dash, I must go and book my flight! Congratulations Jan, may I suggest Stratford on Avon, home of Shakespeare as its only half an hour away for me and I would save on hotel and flight expenses Lol.

I believe a convention of this type would coax many to board a plane to just rub shoulders with other poets from many places, to learn and grow in our poetic art. Your poem is a wonderful idea which may one day come true. Loved this Jan! : ) xxoo

WoW! Jan, As I was reading this I got excited like it was really going to happen. Wouldn't it be fantastic if such a thing were to happen? Thanks Alexis there are many I would love to meet and others I wouldn't want to meet in a million years lol so I'd never attend such an event but I have been blessed to meet 3 lovely soupers in person:-) hugs Jan xx
