A Souper Occasion
I’m delighted Line’s decided to mention
The First Annual Poetry Soup Convention
The convention will be in the U S of A
At Disneyland, where all poets can stay
It’s to be held in the first week of May
All are welcome it’s on a bank holiday
Invitations will be sent on a gold edged card
There will be prizes for any outstanding bard
The host will be Bard William Shakespeare
(A hologram) I’d better make this quite clear
There’ll be a seminar from this sonnet master
I must attend, as my sonnets are a disaster!
If you desire to deviate from your norm
Attend a workshop to learn a new form
There’s an opportunity to air your poet’s voice
A slam contest - perform a poem of your choice
I hope soupers will attend from far and wide
Through our poetry writing we’ll all be allied
To meet fellow soupers would be a delight
I better dash, I must go and book my flight!
