a sorry note from borderline personality
sharp words sit on the edge of my tongue
placed behind the lips i kiss your body with
brown eyes turned black,
mixing shades of red and blue
you will look at me and i will look through you
my ears ring
softening my own screams
i wasn’t aware of how loud i can be
i force you to leave,
no kind words by the door
i will tell you you are dead to me;
i will be inconsolable at your wake
a few minutes pass or so it seems
time is like a vortex sucking memories from me
i cry on my bedroom floor like a child who has dropped her ice cream
my voice shaky and juvenile
tongue blood red,
my heart ripping at the seams
the only one i have ever loved
i feel like i am floating in death
i will call you to come back
the phone tethering you to me
begging for your forgiveness,
i have never meant something so sincerely
and you will accept it
like you accept me
unsure and unaware
never fully committed;
you will love me with uncertainty
the line is so blurred
i am not sure i am me
you will walk back through my door
i can finally breathe
i will kiss you again; thankful this was not our end
but i can still taste the scarlet while i hold you tightly in my bed;
we both know i still have a lifetime of words unsaid
