A Son of Virginia Who Is Loved In Philly

He was born a bouncing baby boy in the year 1975 in Hampton Virginia. To two loving parents Ann Iverson and Allen Broughton. While growing up in Hampton, the nick name "Bubba Chuck" was given to this young rising star. Through his first love of Football he played quarter-back, running-back, kick-returner and defensive back, in addition to Leading the Basketball team to success as well. While playing for Mr. Boo Williams AAU basketball team, he won the 1992 17 and under AAU National Championship. Though an incident at a bowling alley almost Cost you your Football, Basketball and College career, you Persevered and came Through it All. I think that God Walked with You. One Often Never Knows how to Truly Trust in him, until there is No Other Option, and it's All you Have Left. Coach John Thompson of Georgetown University saw the 'Diamond in the Rough', that this Very Gifted Young Man Could Be, and Offered him an Opportunity to Play Basketball For The Hoyas. Though Not his First Love, He Excelled at Everything He did, A Natural Gift that can Only be from His Heavenly Father. Through Hard Work, Diligence, Endurance, and Time Practicing The Craft, These Positive Practices Would Lead to Success. Leading the Hoyas to The Sweet 16 in 1994-95 and the Elite 8 the following year of 1995-96 of the NCAA Tournament is No Easy Task. Though He Played for The Nuggets, Pistons, and Grizzlies, His Heart Will Always be in Philly, with the 76ers. While There he Won Rookie of the Year, The All-Rookie First Team, NBA Most Valuable Player Award, NBA Most Valuable Player Award, Many NBA All Star Teams, 2 NBA All-Star Game MVP Awards, 3 NBA First Team Awards, 3 All-NBA Second Team Awards, 4 NBA Scoring Champion Titles, and Numerous Other Basketball Related Awards in the City of Brotherly Love, i.e. Philly. His History Would Be Incomplete if I did Not Mention, His Mentor and Coach Mr. Larry Brown, Who Shared in Many of these Career Successes. He Played a Critical Role in Challenging Iverson to become the Greatest Player that He Could Be. No Man Would Be Complete without his Family, and for him The Love of His Life is Ms. Tawanna Turner, Who Later Became Mrs. Iverson, and Gifted him with Five Beautiful Children. What I think is Most Impressive About the Man They Call "The Answer" or "AI", is that He Has a Daily Walk and Relationship With God. God Bless My Brother, Sincerely, A Fan from The Bahamas, Author Paul Cumberbatch (September 27th 2020)
