A Soldier's Story
Where the beast of the battle, there awaits
And death there to confront.
Their devotion so profound.
Bound only by an oath.
Valiant soldier’s...stewards of their own legacy
Kill or be killed.
There’s nowhere to get out.
The ruination of many of our boys.
The turmoil lives inside unable to subside
Killing is a poison.
For the soldier’s war never ends!
Before they all perish.
Their pleadings vanquish in thin air
While in the throes of battle for the freedom they cherish.
Fierce is the warrior’s blood,
Flowing in their veins.
G I’s...Government Issue
Conscripted soldiers;
Taut and quivering, never fearful;
Duty bound.
Choosing their fate...their destiny!
They who will never ceased to be!
Clamor of conflict everywhere
Their gallantry still undisputed.
It just becomes polluted
Seek they sublime serenity.
What of the pleas of the wounded?
Upon the blood soaked battlefield.
What is it then to face the beast of the battle?
And scarcely know their fate to be;
Their splendor now set before the dawn
And their valiant sacrifice revealed.
All for Freedom, Freedom!
Sweet Liberty!
O’ what of the forgotten soldiers who stands
Ready on the battlefield?
