A Soldier

I was never raised for it
Circumstances lead me to be
I was not meant for it
But I had to be

Awareness was crucial
Readiness was the key
Adaptability was my nickname
Wisdom was essential

Tears were shed
Pain was endured
Togetherness was created
Loyalty was born

Strength was my calling
Fitness was my gift
Stamina was the air I breath
Fear was not part of the my equation

I had to be
I needed to be
I was
I am
