Notes About The Poem

Artist: Eve Roper

The Umpqua River Light is a lighthouse on the Oregon Coast of the United States, located at the mouth of the Umpqua River on Winchester Bay, in Douglas County, Oregon

A Single Beam of Light

A Single Beam of Light A lighthouse marks the entrance to the harbor casting the gales, a wicked smile with its brilliant ember warning. It's beacon peers out enthralled, piercing the darkness. Briny waves with pounding shouts toys upon the ship's defenses. It sees the ships near. Let go of distracted fear. Seek refuge on a single beam. You don't need to go any farther. 12/14/2018
