A Silent Beast

It is loyal to its rider
Moves like a flyer
It has rhythm in its stride
Over rocks and planes, it glides
Intimate with its insistent jockey
Silent in the glamour of victory
Rearing at every facer
Raring to go like a racer
Like a bovine that is freed
It is a steed ready to bleed
A knight’s wheels of conquest
A name is its only bequest
