A Serious Poem

Listen up, people of the town.
Hear what I am putting down.
Do not look down, do not deride
me when I fall on my fat backside.
Don't judge me by my polka-dot clothes,
my flappy shoes or my bulbous nose.
See now, a man of some renown,
where once, you saw a clown.

Thanks, Alison! I'm still working my way up to a serious poem - lol.
