A Sentimental Song

When old and not able, feeling so cold.

Junk, no longer part of the human fold.

Whence did the gold value of you vanish?

And to what dark place shall you be banished?

Of course, this won’t happen to you,

Living in your dreamy, denial zoo!

I think it’s a humble poem. Doubtful it has meaning to many who are younger. Love, Panagiota xxx

Eve~ you young thing! We are so blessed to have had all the years we did. You have a lovely family and you contributed to humanity. Yes, the aches and pains come with the territory. I envy anyone who is 60 and can walk. I am glad I can write poetry but not arrogant about it. I have much to learn, Eve. Love, Panagiota xxx

My mind can run, travel, dance. But my body will not. Ugh, I don’t like it. But Cinderella? I am not. Joe, I had a full, magnificent life. I know you did, too. Giving in life, is better than receiving. Our bodies were mot meant to be 21 forever. Love, Panagiota xxx

Thank you, my friend..folks think they will be young forever. Hello? Not true. With booze, drugs and edibles, some will never see seventy. That is sad. Life flies by..where have the years gone? Many elders are ignored. Or left in nursing homes. Love, Panagiota xxx

Ha, ha, ha, ha! 'dreamy denial zoo.' What a phrase. Quite apt, as they say!!! Nah. It'll never happen to you or me! Sure...

No! We never get old. LOL. They tell us it is all in the mind. Oh, really! I know 50 year olds who are as bitter as snake poison. Pain is quite real. Many here lost parents. Life does end. Our bodies break down… Like the “lilies of the field!” Denial is the worst on any level. Love, Panagiota xx
