A sense of something
There was a hush, a sense of waiting
for what? the forest animals were unsure,
just an expectance, an unrest or unsettled
feeling kept them from being relaxed.
What could it be? none was sure
just a feeling that hung in the air
a sense of something not right
a heaviness in the forest air.
Animals milled around
on high alert wondering
waiting not sure what to do
then came a bark of alarm.
Bedlam broke loose
all scattered not sure from what.
just a sense of unease
as they huddled together.
Then the feeling eased
animals started to relax
soon they were all grazing
going about the day's activities.
The sense of unease
was never solved
but it had been in the air
now all was peaceful once again.
