A Sense of Emptiness - Broken Wings Contest
A Sense of Emptiness
I can accept my fate
Cause I’ve made more than my share of mistakes
And though my intentions
Only bring attention
To what I can’t mention
As I fall back in the pit of self-hate
I have tried to relax
Some time for myself to ponder the facts
But I can’t let it go
And the anger still grows
Until all that I know
Either, ignore me or bring an attack
I’ve tried on occasion
To light some candles in meditation
And it works for a while
As the flame will beguile
And I breathe back a smile
But, it's quicker to take medication
Such emptiness, inside
Without the love of a woman, I cry
On my neck, a sweet breath
And the softness of breasts
All my love in a nest
Until I wake…. from the dream of green eyes
