A Sailor's Day

The first man off the ship in Subic Bay Happy ambling off with a sailor’s pay Found a hooker in a bar; Lots of liquor took him far Was broke and happy at the end of day.

Hello Milton … being happy and broke is the only way to go for some - thanks Milton - Lindsay

I'd say you're probably right about that, Lindsay, although I never could be happy if I were broke!

Being at sea for a long period can cause a man to go on the prowl for sure...one should make sure he fills his pockets with confetti before he does. happy endings usually ends up with empty pockets when it comes to hookers. Fun Limerick, Milton

Thanks, Charles. That is soooo true, especially in the shipping ports where all they are after is the sailor's pay.

Fun write, Milt. I used to walk through London’s Soho (red light district) to get my train home (yes, really). One evening I was asked by a ‘lady’ in a doorway, ‘you looking for business?’ I said ‘no thanks’ and walked on. In the next doorway, obviously being pimped, was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I maintained my stride and caught my train... but she sure was gorgeous. I hope she got free. Terry

Those hookers are quite expensive, so I'm told lol. Enjoy your weekend Milton. Tom

Well, at least he was happy! I suspect it was the next morning, however, as opposed to the end of the day!
