A Rocking Chair and a Knights Blade
A Rocking Chair & A Knights Blade
An elderly man in a rocking chair.
He sees a bird flying through the air.
He hears a boom and turns his head.
He sees the bird lying bloody and dead.
He laughs and then turns his head back.
His eyes close fading to black.
The man sitting.
Through his thoughts he is sifting.
Looking for any faint piece of imagination.
He settles on a medieval nation.
An intrepid knight with his blade at his station.
A strong & loyal sentry.
Like all of his ancestry.
Guarding this cobble path.
Protecting it from the enemies flaming wrath.
A suspicious man walks to the post.
The knight asks him for a note.
The man holds no rite of passage or paper.
The knight did implore more and more
The man shouts i’m going for her
The knight grips his blade and exclaims
You cannot pass on this here path
If you continue you will feel my blade’s wrath
The man takes two steps
The knight draws his blade
The wind blows with blood and regret
But the knight doesn't know it
He stabs the man and leaves him to bloodlet
The knight turns around a sees a woman with child weeping, a mother
He killed a father
He mutters I can’t go any farther
The elderly man snaps out of is nap
A cat scurries off his lap
He begins to shed a tear
A nurse concerned walks near
The elderly man says nothing
Just reminiscing
Of a better time
Another tear falls down his eye
Running his tie
