A Revealing Truth

Toss then turn
I put my ear to my pillow
attentive to me
like a sea serenade
my conch to the ocean

I hear my heart beat
but never the same
I think I know
who is causing
it to beat this way

But not quite sure
why it might be

If I began
to describe it
following my most
intense obsession mercilessly
with phantoms of words

I would arrive
with shiver of surprise
a revealing truth
for you to hear

You see, all the time
I pretended to love you
I didn't realize
I was already in love
with you all the while...

She captured your heart without you being aware of it. She is a skillful hunter.
