A Rendezvous Drive
A quick phone text I sent to you,
“Meet me this morning, in the car, about ten”,
And that is when we went for a drive,
When you leant over to me and then
We cruised the main street too quick for a stare,
From the police, judge, jury, from lawyers,
We cruised passed the vans, trucks, buses and cars,
Each filled with a pilgrim of voyeurs.
Each seeing you distract my drive with a smile,
Diverting my mind from the road,
When you took my thoughts, from oncoming traffic,
And simply made me explode.
After that we returned back to your car,
Straightening collars to look calm and polite,
And that’s when I sent another small text,
“Babe, how about you drive tonight”.
