A Renaissance Heart
The essence of humanity,
Oh, so delicately frail
As gossamer silk wings
On arid August winds
This unkempt structure
Capable of fierce vivacity
And yet somehow…
So effortlessly fractured
By a heartfelt whim
Hopes once worth effort
Strewn about sidewalks
Life’s weathered stones
Abandoned and waning
Callously kicked aside
And then somehow…
Rain washed to the shore
To be pulled away once more
By the evening tides
