Like that word 'conjure.' Haven't seen it for a while. Inveterate Shakespearean that I am, I always remember Cassius telling Brutus: 'Brutus can conjure a spirit as well as Caesar...' ~ Hapless English Teacher

I love that you are writing about something old and reliable! I also think that it's wonderful that it is something that is a source of light!

Well, it's not a bronze-plated flashlight! Smiles, Gershon

Items created long ago were made to last, even cars. Newer often isn't better. I enjoyed your tribute to your lamp that keeps you company when you write Gershon. I feel that way about my car. xxoo

So many things today are designed to last only a year or two (can anybody say 'cellphones'?) Nice to have a sturdy, old friend that always works and gives us comfort. Nice write Gershon ~ your relic friend John

Sure is nice to find something dependable. Now I'm looking for a goldfish that lasts more than a week. LOL. Thanks, John. ~ Gershon

As you say, I'm paraphrasing, as writers it is important to surround ourselves with things that comfort and inspire us - like creating a nest or safe womb. Nice write my friend. Blessings on you and your "friend."
