A Refrain

Oh love I hear your calling through the mist of the dying years entreating me! entreating me! my soul is bathed in tears. If the sands of my life could flow backwards and I could behold you again my heart would leap to your call our souls would melt into one all gladness be joy to me then. How the years have passed between us our lives are our own no more only a memory is left us of the love which we once bore. And the friends of my life have proved faithless as ashes that crumble at dawn the depth of their love entinquished their warmth and their comfort are naught but mute memories.
