A Red Lollipop

A fading red lollipop
  shuffled slowly up to me

Told me kids now avoid him
  ‘cos he’s not nutritious, you see  

I whispered something in his ear
   with which he seemed to agree

Tell ‘em you’re packed with Vitamin S & C
   I said ~ (You know, for Sweet Candy)

Remember the Tootsie Pop commercial that asked, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?" Boy am I dating myself. :-( Now I want something sweet.
