A Rainy Day
A RAINY DAY
The weather keeps on slicing my day
Always leaving me the smaller piece
The toothless sun deceives me
Into dreaming a dry landscape
The weather has intervened
Again and again with its bare rhetoric
My desperate try to counter it
Nosedives to the nearest ditch.
A honeycomb melts into earth
I perceive my palm itching to stretch
For one seedless sweetness. I am
Near a vacuum bordering an expanse of worth
Like in a vision, the visionary that I am
Does trust the sights. For one moment
And other moments.
Clatter of compromise is heard beside flowing streams
What worth it carries, what wealth it sells
I move from pouring walls
To the storehouse of warm truce
Right across the sluice gates
Between nothing and everything
For Leonora's contest
