Author's Notes: "A Rainbow's Magic" is a Rhymed Couplet I wrote and set in a mixed meter. I've touched on certain elements in this poem that I've actually researched and used in other past writes concerning the power and majesty of God in relation to how mankind relates to the Almighty along the lines of a practical reality, a metaphysical sense, and a spiritual realization. The "rainbow" is only one of many images on Earth that mankind can begin to have a more realistic connection to and a better understanding of God. I view the"rainbow" as a metaphorical image presenting a pictorial message to mankind. It shows and reveals to mankind its remarkable beauty, and at the same time, reflects the subtle power of God as He and His angelic guard are involved in preparing Man for his eventual transition and ascent to Heaven in conjunction with the rebirth once again of his (or her) Soul Body. As I've noted before in other similar theme writes, God may have His plans, but we humans also possess our Free Will -- and the two do clash at times. A Rainbow’s Magic

A rainbow’s magic reflects God’s majestic and divine touch,
Giving us a panoply of colored images which mean so much.

The wonder of God’s enchanted pictorial missives here on Earth,
Gives us an ethereal pause as we reflect on each rainbow’s birth.

A rainbow is God’s celestial medium of His images to treasure,
To help Man better understand Him and meet His deft measure.

The power of a rainbow is its picture-perfect aura of pulchritude,
Dazzling our visual senses and assuring us of Heaven’s certitude.

A rainbow’s very visage mesmerizes our human senses complete,
And embeds in us all God’s spirited message of His love replete.

A rainbow is a noble and supreme reflection of beauty at its best,
And of shades of heavenly images on Earth meeting God’s behest.

A rainbow’s magic is the power of God’s message to us on Earth,
Subtly preparing Man for his heavenly ascent and his soul’s rebirth.

Hello Laura!! Thanks for your very gracious comments here. I try to be very flexible about what I write style-wise and I'm not afraid to try different formats, etc. But I tend toward the more structured writes with rhyme and meter whenever I can do them. (I normally try to keep my couplet writes within a seven-stanza range, if possible, since this is the same as a Shakespearean Sonnet length-wise. The Heroic Couplets in Iambic Pentameter get even closer to the traditional sonnet too.) Best Always, Gary

Hello Alexis!! Thanks so much for your most gracious comments here and for the "7"!! This rhymed couplet write was a lot of fun to put together. You should check out my Heroic Couplet writes that rhyme and are set in Iambic Pentameter. (I did three of them in a trilogy called: The Past, The Present, and The Future.) And I've done others too. They are challenging to write but the results can be marvelous. I did truly enjoy your poem today. Keep up the great work and do write everyday if you can. Let's stay in touch too!!
