A Raccoon Described

Looking onto the deck
A raccoon was seen
The body was huge
Birds flew away
Squirrels ran off

The claws were long
and looking sharp
Color of the fur grey-brown
The face face black markings
Along both of the eyes
He looks like a bandit

Raccoons are the true bandits of the world, you can see it in their cheeky devious faces, I wouldn't have them any other way, lovely poem Darlene . . . ; )

cute one. They are very interesting little animals and smart as the dickens. I have seen videos of them getting into vending machines to retrieve snacks!

We have them on our porch at night, there are three babies, and they are adorable. They look like weirdly shaped cat to me. Thank you for writing a lovely poem in their honor. I think they are adorable Darlene!

Hello Caren, your welcomed. There was one on the deck scared the squirrels away and the birds flew away. The raccoon ate the bird seeds and peanuts. I felt sorry for the squirrels and the birds. Have a nice evening my friend.

Nice image. We have raccoons in my neighborhood. One night late I saw an albino with pink eyes in my bird feeders. Don't laugh. The exterminator I had come for some bees confirmed others had seen it.

They do look like bandits, you are quite right Darlene - they are actually selfish and will take over anything or anywhere that they might be comfortable with or in and if cornered, can be very dangerous. Nice write Darlene, well penned my friend. Hugs, Jennifer.

Hello Jennifer, have you ever seen one up close? I have that is why I can described it. This creature scared the birds and squirrels away from the food left out for them. Yes a raccoon is dangerous. Have a nice day my friend.

they are little bandits if they find treasures to take...my neighbor had one that took over her cat's outdoor shelter, the poor cat would be afraid to seek refuge from the rain and often was left without food until she spotted the raccoon in the cats domain, then she stopped feeding the cat outside! Enjoyed this one :)
