During a meditation session in 2011, I experienced a clairaudience encounter in which a loud voice shouted the name Nicorates, this voice was shouting to me, that was the overwhelming feeling anyway. Something inside was informing me that I was or had been Nicorates. It was all so vivid and real. I have since adopted the notion for poetic purposes that Nicorates is my inner voice. I wrote poems with the Nicorates "device" shortly after. This is one of them.
I remain, he surmised, the possibility of outcomes,
I am, he collected, but particles upon their way
like a snowstorm towards a windscreen, I wait to
be a final measurement, and yet, to all miscreants
in need of harmonious affairs, as Prometheus upon
his rock, as Nicorates in his right hemisphere of my
ever-seeing, I, the incumbent of waves gliding through
plasmas, he trifled, am never at rest in my somewheres.
