A Psalm of Prayer In Flight
A Psalm of Prayer…
A flight above yet near…
As you sit there, across from
My perhaps sleeping,
I wonder…
Do you ever wonder
during these long hours,
Where I really am?
Do you see how I have travelled
With my soul…So very far? Far!
Does the glinting line of my tears
Across my pillow give any hint?
Do your thoughts send out
Search parties
To trample and poke
The piled, crumbling leaves
Of all my journals?
Or, then, might it occur
to try for yourself,
Our Holy Lord’s storied route for
Flight
To Divine Joy?
While so near, so constant with
Your watching, your worrying
over me,
Will you eventually glean:
Within Peace
…I am not here.
I journey in music,
Lifted along above
A trail of manna, of breadcrumbs
Scattered by the Holy Spirit…
Meant for all souls
To follow. Follow!
