A predator came calling

We forgot to close the coop and a
predator came calling.
We became entangled by his loop
and now the government he's uphauling.
We let a nemesis on the premises,
so billionaires he's installing..
Slashing and gutting Federal agencies.
What will survive this mauling?
The chaos and the casualties,
so tragic and appalling..

It's been a long stretch of not being able to write as freely as I used to and the only thing I want to write are political but no one really wants to hear my angst. I totally agree that these are globally dark times. Keep writing. You are very talented and bring a positive light with your words.

Keith, Let me briefly reiterate this. A 50% cut to the Department of Education will greatly impact children with special needs who need that extra support of speech therapists, augmented communication devises, physical therapy, aids in the class room and so on. It may be too soon for some to realize but this is not a scare tactic.

He’s not cutting funding for programs. He’s eliminating the pen pushers and the activists who push their woke social justice ideologies, not the services on the front line. He’s handing the savings over to the states to administer instead of a big inefficient federal bureaucracy in Washington. Doing the same thing with FEMA. It all makes sense to me.

Yep, that evil billionaire Elon Musk. He’s currently rescuing stranded astronauts on the International Space Station after that other evil billionaire, D J Trump, asked him to. He gets those federal contracts because he’s a genius who gets things done. Spare me the veterans and special needs fearmongering - that’s not happening. If you think running 2 trillion dollar deficits is okay you must live among the unicorns.

Hi Keith, I don't see anything "radical" about supporting our public sector workers who only make up 4.3% of the overall Federal budget. I guess there aren't any federal employees in your family? My problem is with how it has been done by an unelected billionaire who currently has made a lot of money from his 52 federal contracts, 11.8 billion while services to our veterans health care and adults with special needs etc. etc. will be reduced.
