Notes About The Poem

A Prayer for Deliverance

Deliver me, O Lord, deliver me.
Wolves and wild animals surround me.
Doubts gnaw into my sordid soul,
anxiety, anger, and depression rule my ego.
How can I ever come to you, O Lord?
Why have you forsaken me?
I thirst for knowledge and love
but roam in sultry roads and lustful bars.
An act of hopelessness, I know,
for I am weak and weary, a wanton fool.
