A Poet's Yelp

I just can't write Too uptight Inspiration's not there Nothing to share My mind's a blank No gas in the tank To sit here and write Doesn't feel right I should be out doing Or at least pursuing A productive activity Not self-absorptive passivity What kind of man Sticks his head in the sand Perfecting 'rhyme-ability' Dodging Responsibility The world needs help Not a poet's yelp These here lines, the best proof ~ This is but a hypocritical spoof

Keep on rhyming. See it as pump priming. Best Wishes

Don't worry Gershon, we all hit dry spells, trying to force your muse doesn't work. Last few days I've been trying to come up with what shall I write next. Just off for a bike ride, maybe Ill think of something and come back with a ROAR lol.

Here we differ perhaps. I find that if I force myself to get that first poem out, the next few come relatively easily... And I never think about poetry when I'm away from the Soup... Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Best always, Gershon

Oh, but I have definitely lost 'that spark.' I struggle so every day to turn out anything worthwhile. Maybe it's the month of 'Dogust,' but I often despair... Oh, well. This too will pass! :) gw
