A Poets Heart

a poets heart they tore it from his chest and yet it beat in steady cadence, a rhythmic resonance roiling words re-sounding a tone, rekindling a fire, reigniting a thought, repeating-rebeating metered mystery’s tortured torment toying with truth’s ludicrous lies, rebeating-repeating heretical hyperbole’s hypocritical hollow echoing eternity’s empty promise. ©6/25/2017 submitted to – Any poem in June not for a contest – Poetry Contest

Yes. The poets heart indeed. You have done it justice. As long as a poets heart beats somewhere in time and space. Sorry I am a Doctor Who fan. I think your poetry will go down as timeless my friend. At home in any century.

The heart of a poet beats to its own rhythm. Well written, and good use of just the right amount of alliteration, John.
