A Poets Heart
a poets heart
they tore it from his chest
and yet it beat
in steady cadence,
a rhythmic resonance
roiling words
re-sounding a tone,
rekindling a fire,
reigniting a thought,
repeating-rebeating
metered mystery’s
tortured torment
toying with truth’s
ludicrous lies,
rebeating-repeating
heretical hyperbole’s
hypocritical hollow
echoing eternity’s
empty promise.
