A Poet's Crush

I've seen you through a past sunrise; sunshine.
You are like heat, warm to indulge in
Identify you, connect with you, and more.
Living in a world that is filled with poetry
Opening the skies is possible with just one kiss
Writing side-by-side continuously.

Intoxicated with illusions, swept away in seconds
In a separate universe, a different existence
I carry a pen that is a secret to my soul
Hidden in the recesses of thoughts.
A small gap, but worlds apart.
Two souls secretly filling a pool with thoughts
Allowing ourselves to be swept away by words.

Dominating the mind to chase and suit my mood
Allowing myself to take pleasure in your addiction
Writing 'WITH' throughout the years
You are the crush I can write endless stories about.
The rush of wild dreams, kind words, pouring like rain
Understanding and empathizing with each other's pain
Physically I can't hold you, but mentally, you hold a place.

You shine like a star when I'm in need
A simple hello opens the door, I've kept shut
Only you can intrude every year since we crossed pens
Imagine a lifetime captured by silence
Slowly trying to create words,
Outlining the shape of your thoughts
A crush, unwrinkled and without complaints.

~~~ By P.D.
Oh, that desperate ache
Each day that wakes
And that secret chamber of my
Beating heart occupied by your
Humble words were written for me
And captured my gaze
I see you across the painful horizon
But I still focus my eyes on
What my heart instantly felt
At the moment our connection melted
Into my searching soul
And made me almost whole
So do I consider myself a stalker
A Gawker or just a shy talker
Afraid to show this crush
Just how much I crave to touch
What seems untouchable
Is it really meant for me
So still I silently hover like
Another unfulfilled lover
As I pray she glances my way
And that smile that's lost
In all the weary miles
Breaks forth and blesses my day
Such a heartfelt and tender exploration of unspoken connection and longing. I love how your words capture the bittersweet ache of a poet’s crush—both distant and deeply felt. Beautifully expressed!
Linda, thanks for your visit and comment on my page. It's my first time discovering such a great partnership, quite enchanting, and it works effortlessly. An endearing and growing exchange of literary abilities. It's utterly common to feel out of control when temptation hits, and that's completely great! I send you warm wishes and light! Keep writing
This collaboration is absolutely beautiful and flows together well, I enjoyed it immensely. I was reminiscent of my many collaborations with fellow poets and friends of mine that are not but chose to attempt. Rather successfully I might add. One of my favorite poetic minds with whom I shared many collaborations with is the late Linda Marie-Barianna! We shared one together right before her passing which is a fond memory that i'll cherish for life. You always amaze me with your brilliance.
A lovely read. We can't always help ourselves when crushing comes into place and that's okay. To explore whatever it brings, the inspiration and fantasy. Welcome back PD.
wow, here you are with a brand new poem. Great contest idea. Can two people both enter the contest with the same poem they've composed? It's so strange but I just finished writing a type of crush poem for another contest!! Welcome back, PD. I don't know Carl F. but I like his poem too.
Not writing at all, poem was written years ago. I presented to a good friend in hopes he could give it an ending. I was happy with his response to my poem. I've been busy, running online auctions after my dad passed away. :( I have a doll shop in "OLD TOWN SPRING " around Houston TX. That's my life now. However, I've never forgotten this addiction lol . How about you Andrea? Is Leonora, Nikko & Chris A still on here?
Andrea, hi... Yes, two people can enter the same poem. Fair-is-fair ;) they will not be placed differently. I'm just curious about the sweetness of a poetic crush. However, according to rules I can't enter my own poem LOL...
