A Poetic Mask

Passing shadows all through the night…
                                  Just memories I couldn’t fight…

                            What was scribed on moonlit scrolls…
                               Fades to dust as the hours unfold…

                               Finding peace in the words I write…
                          A soul that bleeds through second sight…

                      My lines make sounds to the eyes that hear…
                          A sunset pouring over the evening air…

                               Drifting dreams uncover my past…
                           Left to breathe behind a poetic mask…
