A Poem To Crawl Into
I want to crawl into its depth.
Couldn't find one comfortable enough
so I am writing soft quilts to dream upon.
I want them smooth
without hanging chads,
no tear soaked pillows.
I want it downy soft-
perfumed with the fragrance, with passion.
Yes, I desire to remember the aroma...
Sometimes so sweet,
Sometimes reaking
outrageous chaotic desire.
I need a mellow bed
to rest my head.
A place where my heart feels
safe and ceases to ache.
I dream of cotton sheets with a song...
A sing-song melody that humms out sorrow,
words forgotten in touched slumber.
The dreamer in me
can write such a poem, I know,
but perhaps not tonight.
