A Poem of Praise

Praise Jesus Christ!
Who died on the Cross;
Without Thy great Sacrifice
We would all be lost.

From birth until death
You lived on this earth;
Enduring our suffering
To prove Love's worth

Though the sinners were many,
And the darkness was great;
You died to forgive us,
To open Heaven's Gates.

Not three days passed
And You continued Your Plan.
Freed the souls of Purgatory
Down to every last man.

Then You descended to Hell
To address the evil within.
Cast Satan into the abyss
Along with his shackles of sin.

You rose out of the tomb-
A sight to behold!
Your Visage was shining
Even brighter than gold.

After 40 days
You Ascended up high.
You departed from Earth,
As You rose into the sky.

From thence it was said
You would come again.
To Judge everyone
At the very End.

Humanity is selfish;
Ingratitude everywhere.
I bet sometimes it seems
Like nobody cares.

I know You probably don't hear this much,
But I'd like to say thanks
For all that you did for us,
So we might join the heavenly ranks.
