A POEM OF POETRY
What is a poem?,
I thought to think,
then think of the thought,
that has been captured,
as the mind becomes raptured.
Words and visions, play in sight,
tuning and transmitting, thy write,
painting in literature to reveal,
an expression of thought I deeply feel.
Colours become words and chosen so,
this painting of words begins to flow.
Grammatical rules, a style not me,
expressive freedom, to read as be
With words not enough, wanting more,
illustrating opens a new mental door.
How to enrapture this mindful adventure,
a brush and pen creating life to thought,
an artistic poet will have imagination caught,
to forever treasure, a thought with pleasure.
