A Poem of Love, Question Mark

Write a poem of love?
 Aye, aye, aye.
 (Sigh)
 I'll try....
It's like trying to recall a violent crime.

 Describe the incident.
 Details, be specific.

 My body shakes.
 Tears flow uncontrollably.
 Who did this to me?

 A police shows potential suspects,
 questions my best guess.
I gaze at the faces, blankly.
Quite frankly, each looks the same:
a cruel man without a name.
 So there becomes my frame---
 They ARE all the same.
To ALL them is my blame.

 A bitter woman I became,
 claiming rapists among the tame.
You're one. So are you, and you, too.
 Closed heart. Fearful, angry view.
 Convicting the innocent.
 Condemning them,
so the one possessing my torn out heart
 still held it
 in prison.

I waited for their impending death.
 Instead I died.
 I died inside.

 Where is love?

 Help me find
a safe place to hide .

Oh yeah, questioning the validity of those "suspects" of "love" and its, potentially, violent consequences. Incredibly piercing message. The impact is deep, sad, & surreal. Tremendous job.

The reader can feel the fear and the pain coming through in every line. This was very well expressed, and I think that most of us can relate to this poem, to some extent. Great work, Juliet! This reminded me of my poem titled, "Scarred Heart"...Thank you very much for the kind congrats on my poem.

Unfortunately it is, but a rape of the heart. After getting my heart broken I went through a phase of being angry at all men and being afraid of love altogether. It did more harm to myself than anyone else. Thankfully, by God's grace, my eyes were opened to these lies and God helped me to forgive.
