What is a poem
That people read, enjoy and forget?
Is it just verses
Or lyrics with tunes
to give enjoyment?
A poem is but a song
Of love, life, loss,
despair and pain of separation
Out of a poet's heart
sung by every man and woman.
When a poet burns in his heart
Dives deep into ocean of life
Feels loss, despair and pain of separation
A poem comes to life
Speaks loud out to people
and makes them feel
What life is all about.
A poem is indeed
Part of a poet's soul
A canvas of life itself.
