A Play

She had a name written on her palm And kept giggling after reading it I was curious and with pretense calm My eyes and this name have met, She used a pen with dark blue paint Crossing the lines on her hand, The “A”s were round, the “L”s bent, “I” dots were spread like sand, I needed to beg, I needed to insist For she didn’t want to show, hiding it within her clenched fist, teasing me with a laced bow, when she finally allowed me to see it was late and I saw just a blur, she laughed and I let her walk free like a kitten, also starting to purr.
