Notes About The Poem

A Place To Rest

I need a quiet place to rest,
where I can sit in hidden bliss,
a leafy place with blossoms dressed,
anointed by their shadowed kiss—
a place out of the glare and heat,
where sunlight offers dappled alms,
to close my eyes in cool retreat,
as breezes fondle shifting palms.

I need to hear the silvery flow
as water glides beneath my lair
and drifts along where worries go,
so very far away from there.

And I will sit in tranquil thought,
the world turned quiet, calm and still,
while swirling through this shaded spot,
my breath blooms like a daffodil.

If only I would be so blessed!
I need a quiet place to rest.

Your words or meditative to my soul, Katharine, and the picture you choose fits the scene you paint well. We all need a place like the one you describe for times of meditation and prayer. Smiles~ Blessings, Bill
