Tom, I like your work. We had a male peacock show up here one afternoon but was gone again by the next morning. I believe it was a male but maybe had been blow out of its regular home by some strong wind. It needed time to recuperate from the wild flight. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. I wrote a short poem about my experience with the peacock. Sara K

It's always so amazing to me that in humans, it's the woman so beautifully arrayed. but in the animal kingdom it's often the opposite. Well done.

so beautiful...my oldest grandson had a peacock show up at his home after his grandfather passed...it's been living on their property ever since, we tease that it's his grandfather because it's always looking in the house, screaming when people arrive from the tree and dropping his beautiful feathers everywhere... love this one and the memory it brought forth :) hugs

Thank you Sandra, yes they are quite loud though but beautiful to see when they fan out those feathers, many keep them like guard dogs to alert them to strangers. Glad it gave you happy memories. Tom

They can be a little hostile when the're making their move. Saw one in the zoo recently, try to attack a child who was standing there watching. Nice imagery in your Haiku Tom, good luck in the contest....Maria Hugs

Thank you Maria, I've heard they can be aggressive and some people keep them for security purposes rather than a guard dog. Enjoy your weekend. Tom
