A Path This Wind Cannot Steal

I waver like the trees in the summer wind A mind full of thoughts that continue to spin I shake like the branches, as their leaves flutter And feel like my words just continue to sputter The forest is so deep, it’s easy to get lost Compared to leaving footprints in snow or frost So many things waiting, are left for me to do As I continue in motion, to get on through Longing for something out there, I can’t find Haunted by the past, creaking in my mind There’s a pain inside that I can’t describe at all My being is caught in some sort of free fall Longing for steadiness, security and more To stay strong like the trees, as I have before And as I watch the wind continue to blow, I wait for what is coming, that I need to know It’s all in the stillness I want so much to feel To determine a path that is right and is real - A path this wind cannot steal - Heidi Sands 6/16/21

I have commented on this wonderful poem of yours ten hours ago but, to my surprise, I didn't find my comment here. I wonder why? I said, as you do, that in stillness we perceive our Lord's light which indicates us the path we have to follow. When this happens then we have no fear if a strong wind blows because nothing could ever will push out of our path. Excellent profound and inspiring work, my dearest Heidi. Hugs xxx

Hi Demetrios. Oh, that's strange that your comment would disappear? I hadn't seen it. But, I see this comment. Thank you very much for your insightful and kind feedback. I hope your day is going well. Hugs xx

Walking strong in the storms of life. The winds may blow, but cannot steal from us when we choose the right path. Enjoyed your poem.

Hello Heidi, Musical note played so well in a poem, though alone. A note that still blends as part of a whole beautiful symphony's musical score. -Richard

WOW! A walk through nature as emotions twist and turn in memories of the past--yet, steadily emerging on a path that is right and real. Wonderfully emotive write, Heidi.
