A Passionate Soul

Everything is done with the whole of your heart
Each part of you cries out and yet you remain unheard
You push onward often only to find a dead end
Tired, empty, and misunderstood you continue
Determined to make everything work, to make everything last
Your spirit is engulfed, weakened, and flooded with tears
Yet you do not give up, you must not fail
Labels and insults surround you, you are crazy or eccentric
No one knows the real you, yet you must go on
Lost in a world of so much promise
Your emotions lead you, twisting, entangling, and choking
You are captive, a prisoner within yourself, bound by desire
Begging to escape, to find peace and happiness
The problem with passion is it burns an eternal flame
Never to be extinguished
Therefore it can burn the soul leaving its victim in pain

Yes, the "eternal flame" of passion leaves "victims in pain," but we pursue it longingly nonethelesss. Must be human nature to be a "captive...bound by desire." Awesome writing, Lolita!

Someone wrote somewhere that great artists are transformers of pain ... I believe oysters are artists too, they make pearls from pain ... you transcend it all, you are the pearl of the pain reflecting the beauty of light that all your poems are ... stay transcendant and strong, sister ... my prayers are inexhaustible for healing everywhere.

This person sounds like a real fighter.. aperson who been through a lot and endured..a person who is unknown by many eventhough their soul flame with passion that your the voice in the poem can recognize..I enjoyed the read.
