A Part

I thought I shut down a long time ago, I bottled how I felt, my heart turned to stone. A wall I built so high and distance was my friend. But this girl caught my eye and that's where this begins. Everything I bottled up, I had to let it out. Like a jagged pill you swallow, my heart was filled with doubt. My feelings showed no emotion and love was just a lie. But this girl showed me devotion and truth was in her eyes. Now the wall i built has crumbled into a pile of dust. And into this girl I stumbled. In her I place my trust. My guard became unguarded, my bottle became unfilled. My path is now uncharted, but at least now I feel. So I'm part of my life and part of my addiction. I'm part of my fight and I'm part of my affliction. I'm part of the love and I'm part of the pain. I'm part of nothing left aefter all there is to gain. And the other part is you, you're the part that I hold close. And when all other parts are through, you're the part I cherish most. Now part of my life is over with other parts still to come. You're part of my four leaf clover, you're part of my rising sun. You're a part of my whole wide world or can't you see, that I'm a part of you and you're a part of me. And apart from all others I hold you apart. You're a part of why I'm here, you're a part of my beating heart. And I can't think of a reason why we should part, so apart from all reason I give you my whole heart. And I will give to you every part of me. But what the future holds is the part we can't see. Now some time might come when we have to be apart but don't worry sweet baby you know you have my heart. You're a part of my world, you're a part of my life. And you'll always be my girl but I want you to be my wife. Because without you in my life I find it hard to breathe and a question I need to ask so I'm down on bended knee. I hope you say yes I hope you set me free. So please baby please, won't you marry me?
