Been missing out on your poetry while I was away in the UK. Really adore that last line of yours... sums up the poem nicely. Usually people feed birds, in the park, in daylight... must be kinda eerie at night, however!

Lovely..I have a little nest in the backyard with 3 bluejays babies. What fun Ive had watching them grow..constantly worried about the cat..if you know what I mean. Loved your poem. BG
