A Painful Addiction

when you start to cut the skin around it puffs,
crimson like the sky
horizontal beads of scarlet push through the surface, escaping.
at first it stings and it begins to tingle, but then you begin to feel at ease,
your whole body is in panic mode as the blood starts to drip,
yet your mind is so calm.
cutting is an addiction, it makes me tremble at my knees

i was a cutter in my past, it was a release of inner pain...you described it rather well...hope you aren't a cutter now...i have found poetry to be the best release of emotions...hugs to you warrior...

poetry has always been a love of mine, simply to release that pain inside. i hope you are no longer a cutter and your world is filled with joy - sending hugs back to, my fellow warrior.

Cutting is a serious problem, and you have penned this well.
