'a Once Sweltering Love'

all the signs were there I preferred to ignore them it became overt your actions were deafening so much louder than your words tears are all that’s left of our once sweltering love I had faith in us in love that connected us then I saw you in her arms

Best wishes for the contest, Wilma. It should do well. After the pain we ask, who can I trust if not the one who looked me in the eyes and said, 'I love you'? But that's the way of the world. Men and women lie so casually, and find nothing morally wrong with that, especially when someone's heart and emotions are affected. I always say, You're better off without anyone who can't be honest with their feelings..no honor, no trust. If it's trash you let it go! Love, Annalise

Ouch! Seeing in in "her arms" had to add even more pain, Wilma. Very powerful poem. We often choose to ignore the signs because we want so much for love to work in our favor. Excellent entry for Russell's contest and I'm sending winning wishes your way. Love, Carolyn
