a note to my younger self

You will be okay
Don't listen to the girls who call you ugly
You aren't ugly, you are perfect
Mami and papa want to know what's going on with you
They don't want you to hide it because you are scared to hurt them
Don't do what that teacher tells you
She isn't trying to keep you safe
Don't give up on your music studies
Soon they will be taking you to New York City to compete
Don't ever stop writing how you feel
It's your right to express yourself
It's okay to love somebody
Even if they aren't the best for you
But most importantly, my love,
Don't be scared
To ask for help
Sooner than when I did

Ah, I remember being bullied when I was younger. Turns out I have autism. Great poem!

Your poem touched me. I was bullied when I was younger. It was awful. True words of advice.
