A Not So Distant Memory
I sit in a darkened room
on a damp, dreary day,
thinking about a certain someone
and about a certain perfume...
both aroused my senses,
both aroused my needs.
She was a beautiful young woman of grace,
and I, a headstrong young man,
our eyes met,
my heart began to race,
this young maiden
I just knew that it had to be.
Our time was grand,
it churned passionately for a time;
this young maiden and
that certain perfume fueled me,
but like an uncontrollable wildfire
it had to be extinguished.
That was many years ago,
our love - my loss,
my heart was ripped in two,
her memory haunts me so...
that certain someone,
that certain perfume.
